Strong showing for Arnot Manderson advocates in latest Legal 500 rankings

Arnot Manderson Advocates have again received high praise from the Legal 500 upon the release of their latest bar rankings. Members were once again ranked across all seven practice areas, further solidifying its reputation as a leading full-service stable.
Leading the way is experienced and respected silk Duncan Hamilton KC who is ranked Tier 1 in Crime and Regulatory and Administrative and Public Law and in Personal Injury and Medical Negligence. The directory indicates that “Duncan is a superb communicator, and is able to represent the client’s position with clarity.” it describes him as “A fearless advocate.”
The Arnot Manderson Personal Injury Group (AMPIL) had a solid showing with Tier 1 recognition in the Personal Injury and Medical Negligence category for Laura Thomson KC and Jonathan Deans along with rankings for Nick Gardiner, Charles Oliver and of course Duncan Hamilton KC.
Besides a mention in the PI and Med Neg section respected junior Charles Oliver was also ranked in the Property, Planning and Construction and Commercial Disputes Categories.
There was a particularly strong showing for the members of the Stable’s Commercial Practice Group, with head of the group Fergus Whyte joining Charles Oliver, newly appointed silk David Turner KC and the highly experienced Iain Mitchell KC all recognised in the directory’s Commercial Disputes section.
Iain Mitchell KC was also ranked once again alongside Hugh Olson in the Employment category with both counsel achieving Tier 1 status.
Besides his ranking in the PI and Med Neg category Jonathan Deans outstanding work in the Appeal Courts was also acknowledged again with another Tier 1 rising star ranking in the Crime and Regulatory category. Also ranked Tier 1 in that category was Laura Thomson KC who drew the following praise: “She is a fabulous lawyer - incisive, creative and committed. She approaches cases with rigour and insight, allowing her to see connections and draw out overarching themes no matter how complex and technical the subject matter. Her witness handling skills are a masterclass. She is a delight to work with.”
Rounding of the rankings is some well-deserved recognition in the Private Client and Family Law section for the respected AM Family Law Team. Tier 1 rankings were achieved by the Head of the Family Group Marie Clark KC, Stable Director Nicola Gilchrist and leading junior Sarah Trainer.
