Strathclyde to host time travel workshop and law and technology roundtable
The University of Strathclyde is holding two free events exploring the implications of time travel, money and emerging technologies as part of the Festival of Social Sciences.
A children’s workshop, running from 11.30am to 12.30pm, will use time-travel stories to examine questions of fairness, money and the consequences of changing the past. Participants will work in groups to develop rules addressing issues such as gaining financial advantages through knowledge of the future.
A roundtable discussion, organised by law lecturer Dr Mirosław M. Sadowski, will follow at 1pm. Guido Noto La Diega of Strathclyde, Amy Thomas of the University of Glasgow and Alexander Simmonds of the University of Dundee will discuss the relationship between law and technology.
Both events will take place in the learning-creative studio on the top floor of Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art. Admission is free, and virtual participation is available for the roundtable.
