Still time to apply to Scottish Solicitors' Benevolent Fund

The Scottish Solicitors’ Benevolent Fund is open for applications.

Shelley Matheson, vice president, Scottish Law Agents Society and trustee, Scottish Solicitors’ Benevolent Fund, said: “It’s no secret we’re living through a cost of living crisis, and even people in professional careers can find themselves under financial pressure. If that’s you, please don’t feel ashamed or embarrassed about asking for help.

“Applications are dealt with confidentially, and the fund isn’t there to judge how somebody has found themselves in difficulty. It’s there to help.

“The Scottish Solicitors’ Benevolent Fund can provide financial assistance to qualified Scottish solicitors and their dependants who are experiencing financial difficulty, whatever the circumstances. It is jointly administered by the Scottish Law Agents Society and The Law Society of Scotland.

“There’s still time to apply, so if you think you may qualify, please get in touch. And if you don’t need the Fund yourself, please consider sharing this information. Someone in your professional network may need to see it but may never feel comfortable asking publicly.”
