Solicitors' charity golf outing moves to Leven

The Scottish Solicitors Benevolent Fund Golf Outing is taking place across the Forth in Leven Links this year, with the backing of the First Scottish Group and Legal Post (Scotland) Limited.

The annual golf event will be hosted by Leven Golfing Society, the eleventh oldest golf club in the world, at a links course which is employed as an Open Championship qualifying venue.

Leven Links is the venue for two of the most prestigious amateur events on the Scottish golfing calendar: the Scottish Champion of Champions, which is traditionally the season opener for the top amateur golfers in Scotland, and the Standard Life Amateur Champion Gold Medal, recognised as the oldest amateur stroke play competition in the world.

Both past champions boards are displayed proudly in the Leven Golfing Society Club House, including many instantly recognisable such as Scotland’s own Andrew Coltart in 1989 and his brother-in-law Lee Westwood in 1993.

Teams of four from firms, faculties and elsewhere in the legal sector are invited to put themselves forward for the annual charity outing until the booking deadline of 24 July 2015. More information about the course is available on the Leven Golfing Society website.

Entry forms and further information are available from Ross D Ireland, Williamson & Henry LLP, 13 St Mary Street, Kirkcudbright (LP-1 Kirkcudbright, telephone 01557 330692 and email rireland@williamsonandhenry.co.uk).
