The number of subscribers to the Scottish Legal News daily newsletter has broken through the 10,000 level with the total number of subscribers to the service reaching 10,080 this month.

The milestone was reached eight years after the launch of the service in June 2007 and follows the launch of a new website and the highlighting of Scottish Legal News articles by Google News.

Further subscriber growth has come from the expansion of the circulation of Scottish Legal News Annual Review among in-house lawyers and local government solicitors.

A successful campaign among students with media talks by SLN staff, distribution of the Annual Review to diploma students and a prestigious essay competition in conjunction with DLA Piper has also attracted student readers.

SLN editor Graham Ogilvy said: “I would like to thank all of our readers, advertisers and contributors for making Scottish Legal News such a success. Kapil Summan, Connor Beaton and all of the SLN team also deserve praise for their efforts in continuing to develop the service. We are looking forward to more exciting innovations in the year ahead.”
