Shoosmiths makes waves by advising on sale of Radio Forth’s home

Shoosmiths has advised client Svenska Handelsbanken AB (Handelsbanken), a leading Swedish bank, on its multi-million loan to Thistle Property Group to acquire office buildings Forth House and Playfair House.

The offices are situated close to the St James development. The former is let in its entirety to Radio Forth and the latter to various other occupiers, was sold from Property investment advisor London and Oriental (L&O) for £4.5million.

Shoosmiths senior associate Sheelagh Cooley led on the deal, with support from the real estate team, including trainee solicitor Chloe Shields.

Ms Cooley said: “It was a pleasure to assist Handelsbanken in its dealings with Thistle on this occasion. We were awarethat there was a lot of interest in these buildings and it was crucial to deliver clear and concise advice within a tight timescale.”
