Shoosmiths bolsters family team with new associate

The Edinburgh office of Shoosmiths has expanded its family law offering with the appointment of associate Sheila Byth.

Ms Byth will be working within the firm’s private client arm alongside existing family law partner Marika Franceschi and solicitor Karen Nicol in Scotland.

Ms Byth, who joins the firm from Blackadders LLP, has practised as a family lawyer for the last fifteen years, advising clients on a wide range of issues including parental rights, child protection, prenuptial agreements, separations and divorce. She brings to the role experience in mediation, litigation and asset protection.

Ms Franceschi, said: “When facing divorce, separation or other family difficulties, the right advice and support is essential to help you through these challenges.

“Sheila is known for her sensible and pragmatic approach to negotiations and her significant court experience, particularly in relation to child relocation and residence disputes.
