Sheriff’s letter to children takes centre stage

A letter written by a sheriff to the children involved in a family law case has taken centre stage at the Edinburgh International Festival this week.

Sheriff Anwar’s letter in a contact case has featured in Letters Live, a show at the festival featuring letters from Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Yoko Ono, Evelyn Waugh and others read aloud by stars of the stage and screen including actors Sanjeev Bhaskar, Ian McShane, Meera Syal, Robert Webb and Harriet Walter, comedian Al Murray and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Writer and broadcaster Richard Holloway read Sheriff Anwar’s letter to Julie and Brian, entitled “We all make mistakes”.
