Cloch® has announced that solicitor Sheona Burrow has been promoted to associate within the firm, effective 1 July 2017. Ms Burrow, an academic lawyer and winner of the 2013 Cloch Prize for Intellectual Property in the Digital Economy at the University of Glasgow, started with the boutique corporate practice in June 2014 after private practice experience and has made a significant contribution to the firm’s growing commercial property expertise.

In recent years she has both progressed a PhD and assisted in completing in excess of £100 million of commercial property deals.

Kris Erickson, lecturer in intellectual property and Innovation at CREATe, University of Glasgow School of Law, said: “Sheona is one of the most promising PhD students I have worked with in my career. Her intellectual curiosity and willingness to engage with new research techniques (such as quantitative statistical methods) has produced a highly impactful PhD on the topic of the IP small claims track.”

Cloch Solicitors managing director Philip Hannay added: “Sheona has pioneered a new model in progressing both academic and professional careers in tandem and proven that flexible, cost-effective, team-based niche expertise is what more discerning corporate clients are seeking, and respond to.”
