Seven new solicitor advocates introduced to court

Seven new solicitor advocates have been introduced to court at a ceremony in Edinburgh.

Law Society of Scotland vice president Sheila Webster invited Lord Arthurson to administer the declaration of allegiance to the solicitor advocates during the ceremony at Parliament House.

The new solicitor advocates are:

  • Christopher MacFarlane from Collins & Co
  • Ron Mackenna from Ron Mackenna Defence
  • Neil Martin from COPFS
  • Frankie Morgan from COPFS
  • Clare Russell from Craig Wood Solicitors
  • Trina Sinclair from COPFS
  • Robert Weir from COPFS

Ms Webster said: “It’s an unexpected honour to be called up for today’s ceremony. Congratulations to our new solicitor advocates for their hard work and dedication that has been rewarded with extended rights of audience.

“We’ve been pleased to see this year being so busy in terms of new solicitor advocate admissions. It’s a good sign for the profession, after several years of disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
