A journal whose aim is to get young lawyers writing and publishing about contemporary human rights issues has published its second edition.

The Human Rights Lawyers Association publishes an annual journal - The Young Human Rights Lawyer, organised and published by the HRLA Young Lawyers’ Committee.

The second volume of the journal has just been published and includes a foreword from Lord Lester QC and contributions from ten young lawyers including Maclay Murray and Spens trainee Seonaid Stevenson. The articles cover a wide range of topics - from the legal basis for intervention in Syria to prisoners’ mental health.

The journal will open up for the third round of submissions in Spring 2017.
