Scottish Police Authority appoints new board member

Mr McGill worked across the BP Group for 30 years in engineering, operations and international business leadership roles ultimately becoming director of the BP Grangemouth Refining and Petrochemicals complex and Forties Pipeline System - a strategic piece of UK infrastructure.

Following his BP career he has held a number of executive roles in a diverse range of sectors notably CEO of Europe’s largest professional body The Institution of Engineering and Technology and CEO of the Atomic Weapons Establishment.

He returned to Scotland to take up a role back in the oil & gas sector as European director, oil & gas for Exova, a global materials testing company. Following its successful flotation, Mr McGill set up his own consulting business and is currently VP engineering and operational excellence for Fosroc, an international solutions provider to the construction industry.

He is a chartered engineer and a fellow of the IET and the IMechE. His personal passions are leadership and the application of technology as a force for good.
