Scottish lawyer’s advert to appear on last episode of US talk show

An advert for the law firm of a Scot who practises in the US is set to air for the first time on American TV.

Pete Reid’s award-winning advert for his law firm Pete Reid Law will appear on Thursday in a prime spot during the last episode of The Daily Show to be hosted by Jon Stewart.

Pete was featured in the Scottish Legal News Annual Review 2015, in which he spoke to SLN assistant editor Kapil Summan about making it as a lawyer in the US.

From 2005 to 2010 he practised exclusively in New York City where he focused on trial work and commercial litigation, specifically property litigation, contract disputes, sports law, and entertainment law.

He found himself at the centre of a case which drew international attention when he successfully defended clients who wanted to build a mosque and Islamic centre close to the Ground Zero site of the former World Trade Centre.

He is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh School of Law and theUniversity of Texas School of Law.

Pete is also a licensed attorney in Texas and New York, and has gained more than 17 years of legal experience working in London, Edinburgh, Melbourne, New York City, and Austin.
