Scottish Housing News Podcast expands to YouTube and seeks new sponsor

The Scottish Housing News Podcast has taken an exciting step forward with the launch of its new YouTube channel, opening new doors for its audience to connect with the conversations shaping Scotland’s housing sector.

By joining the video platform, the podcast is widening its reach beyond traditional audio listeners. The move makes episodes easier to discover, easier to share, and more accessible to audiences who prefer visual platforms or who simply spend more time on YouTube than on audio apps.

For the sector’s professionals, tenants, policymakers and anyone with an interest in housing, it’s another convenient route into the stories and insights that matter.

Scottish Housing News editor and podcast co-host Kieran Findlay said: “The addition of YouTube means the podcast can now tap into a wider audience, offering greater visibility for the issues and voices at the heart of Scotland’s housing sector. It also creates new opportunities for engagement, from comments and community interaction to the potential for future video-led content.

“Crucially, the podcast remains available on all existing platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other major audio services, meaning regular listeners can continue tuning in exactly as they do now.

“As Scottish Housing News celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and looks ahead to establishing a housing presence at the Scottish Construction Summit in October, this move kicks off a huge year for us.”

The expansion also represents a significant boost for potential sponsors.

“With the podcast now discoverable across both audio and video, sponsorship messages can reach a wider and more diverse audience,” said Scottish Housing News advertising manager Jeff Anderson. “The multi-platform presence strengthens brand visibility and offers greater return on investment, particularly for organisations looking to align themselves with trusted, sector-specific journalism.”
