RTA Law LLP has been recognised at the Institute of Master Tutors of Driving’s annual awards lunch in Coventry for its work in advancing road safety and protecting vulnerable road users. Solicitors Zara Jones and Roz Galloway attended the event on behalf of the firm.
Since its formation in 2011, the niche litigation practice has campaigned for policy change alongside its legal work. Its 2013 RoadShare initiative placed presumed liability in civil law firmly on the Scottish policy agenda.
More recently, its 2022 #TakeAnotherLook campaign – backed by Honda Motorcycles, the British Motorcyclists Federation, IAM Roadsmart and others – has attracted over 6,500 signatures and secured RTA Law a seat on Transform Scotland’s Motorcycle Focus Group.
The firm attributes its approach to the practical experience of its team, all of whom are qualified advanced drivers, riders or both through the Institute of Advanced Motorists.
Ms Jones said the award was “a reminder that our role as lawyers extends beyond litigation. We are part of a wider community working towards lasting improvements in road safety”.
