Road traffic lawyer Graham Walker injured in cycling accident in France

Top road traffic lawyer Graham Walker has been injured in a cycling accident in France, The Herald reports.

Mr Walker, 60, of roadtrafficlaw.com, was in intensive care after he fell from his bike in a “freak accident” in which he hit a root on a woodland cylce path and landed on his head, a family friend who was with him said.

A passing off-duty fire chief raised the alarm and Mr Walker was taken to a hospital in Bordeaux.

He is now in a stable condition after having undergone surgery. His friend said: “By pure luck, just as the accident happened out in the middle of nowhere in a forest run, we happened to be passed by a jogger who turned out to be the local fire chief.

“Within 10 minutes we had an ambulance.

“Graham was extremely lucky that the treatment he got was almost instant.

“We have been advised that the operation was a success.

“We were also told that after the CT scan and MRI scan subsequent to the operation that the French doctors are content there are no signs of any lasting injury. He is stable and the family is with him, and the plan is to bring him back to the UK as soon as we can in order to continue his rehabilitation here.”

He added: “Everyone has been sending him good wishes, he’s is very highly thought of in the legal profession and is very well-liked.”
