Every business occasionally has to deal with disputes of one sort or another. When these disputes do arise, it is important to know what your options are and which option in any given case is the most appropriate to resolve the dispute quickly and cost effectively.

This is what the ADR Workshop will tell you. We will cover Litigation, Arbitration and Mediation – explaining how each works and what are the pros and cons of each method of dispute resolution. Litigation often tends to be the best known option and while occasionally the only viable option, often Arbitration and Mediation may provide a better outcome. As Courts in both England and Scotland have started pushing parties to consider alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”) before proceeding with Litigation then it is more important now than ever before to fully understand what alternative options are available for resolving disputes.

This innovative seminar answers all the questions you may have about different ways of resolving disputes by showcasing each different method of dispute resolution through role-play with participants who are themselves leading experts in their particular fields.

• Get to grips with the ins and outs of Litigation with input from one of the most senior judges from the Scottish Bench, who recently presided over the Vale of Leven Hospital Inquiry, a leading Advocate of Scotland’s pre-eminent commercial set of chambers, and the Solicitor of the Year 2015.

• Learn about Arbitration from one of the most established arbitrators in Scotland today, who was a driving force behind the establishment of the Scottish Arbitration Centre.

• Watch Mediation revealed in action with Scotland’s leading female commercial mediator and the Up and Coming Lawyer of the Year 2015.
