Ms Scott and Ms MacAskill both completed their traineeships with the firm, with Ms Scott training under the supervision of Thiona McQuiston in the firm’s Ayr office and Ms MacAskill under the supervision of Debbie Dunlop in the Girvan office. Over the years, both have worked incredibly hard to increase their knowledge and expertise. Their promotion to associate solicitors recognises their hard work, dedication and commitment, as well as the high standard of service they provide to our clients.

The pair have extensive knowledge and assist clients with a wide range of private client matters including preparation of wills and powers of attorney, estate planning, trust administration and the winding up of estates. Their work often involves helping individuals and families navigate significant life events, from planning for the future to administering the affairs of loved ones following a bereavement. Through this work, they have developed extensive experience and become trusted advisers to many of the firm’s longstanding clients.

Ms Scott is now based in the firm’s Girvan office and Ms MacAskill in its head office in Ayr. In their new roles as associate solicitors, they will continue to play an important part in the growth and future development of the private client department, supporting existing clients, welcoming new ones, and helping to maintain the trusted relationships we have built within the community.

With forthcoming pension changes, both lawyers will be available to assist clients in reviewing their existing wills and estate planning arrangements, helping them understand how any changes may affect their personal circumstances. They will work closely with clients to ensure their affairs remain structured in accordance with their wishes and that any planning already in place continues to meet their objectives.
