Blackadders LLP has announced a number of appointments: Dale Ross has been made a partner; Emma Sadler has been promoted to associate solicitor, family law; and Robyn Lee has been promoted to senior solicitor, private client.

Mr Ross’ areas of expertise include executry and trust matters including complex cases with tax and offshore elements.

He said: “I am delighted to become a partner at Blackadders during this exciting time, as we emerge from the restrictions imposed by the pandemic. The way in which our private client team has dealt with these challenges, while maintaining our services to our clients throughout, has been remarkable. It has also provided us with new ways of working and meeting the needs of our clients. I’m excited to continue leading my team in delivering the best client services in my new role.”

Managing partner Johnston Clark said: “In addition to his impeccable academic credentials, which are helping him develop his opinions and expert witness practice, he is very approachable and a great teacher. His background as a mathematician helps him ‘see the numbers’ and work his way through problems logically, which in his high-value net worth and contentious trusts and estates practice is a great attribute.”

He added: “Emma Sadler is an empathetic and responsive family lawyer, with a practical touch which helps clients with decisions at a time in their lives which is usually difficult. I’m impressed with her development which is rewarded by this promotion to associate.

“Robyn Lee thoroughly deserves her promotion. She has an overall distinction in her STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates (Scotland) and is very focused on delivering great advice and service to clients across the private client spectrum.”

The firm also paid tribute to partner Douglas Sneddon, who retired on 31 March. He spent his entire career with Blackadders in private practice and had been a partner since 1986. The firm thanked him for his hard work over the years wished him the very best in his retirement.
