Professor Nicholas Grier to hold retirement parties

Professor Nicholas Grier

Professor Nicholas Grier WS, former head of the schools of law at Edinburgh Napier University and Abertay University, is hanging up his gown after 35 years in legal education.

As an academic he specialises in business and corporate law, but to students he is known for the “Curse of Grier”, for expecting high standards of literacy, and for his Gen Z tour of Abertay University on TikTok.

To celebrate his departure, he is holding two farewell parties.

The first is on Wednesday 13 May at Abertay University from 5pm to 7pm. This is for current Abertay law students and recent Abertay alumni.

The second is on Friday 12 June, also at Abertay University from 5pm to 7pm. This is mainly for past and present staff at Abertay University, and to anyone else who has worked with Nicholas over the years.  It is also open to any other alumni who could not attend the May party.

Refreshments of an uplifting nature will be available on each occasion.

If any readers wish to attend one or other of these parties, please send an email to events@abertay.ac.uk indicating which party you wish to attend.
