Perthshire property market springs into action

Perthshire property bosses are welcoming the onset of Spring as they reveal statistics from the first quarter of the 2015.

Staff at Perthshire Solicitors Property Centre (PSPC) announced a first quarter sales total of almost £30 million.

Having sold a total of 166 properties since the turn of the year, the average price tag achieved by PSPC member firms is up on this time last year, sitting at £177,732.

March 2015 has also been a significantly better month than March 2014, with 61 properties exchanged compared to just 48 last March.

In terms of house styles, semi-detached villas have been performing particularly well with the average semi selling for just under £200,000.

Anne Begg, manager of PSPC said: “We are delighted to see, in black and white, the promising sales statistics from the first quarter of the year.

“Sales are slightly down on this time last year but the good news is that the average price tag being achieved is ahead of this time last year.

“Values really are holding their own, which is promising if you’re considering selling up this Spring.

“As with so many life-changing events, Spring really is the perfect time to put your property on the market.

“People were, for the first time in the event’s history, queuing up for our recent ‘Help to Buy’ open morning within PSPC and, with Winter in the past, we’re seeing lots of evidence that countless people are ready to make a move.

“With the clocks having now changed, there’s an extra chunk of daylight to enjoy and in which to showcase your home to viewers in the best possible light.”
