Pagan Osborne introduces family law service

Partner Jackie McRae, who is also a qualified social worker, will be heading up the new unit within the leading legal, financial and property company from early 2015 along with solicitor Cameron Shaw.

“Our current clients already benefit from our holistic approach to legal and support services which deal with issues from buying and selling their first homes, establishing and running their businesses, through to drafting their Wills, planning for care and appointing Powers of Attorney for estates. Introducing the expertise of Ms McRae and her team will add an important extra dimension to our existing offering.”

The team will be based at Pagan Osborne’s George Street, Edinburgh office working with clients throughout the city and Fife.

Ms McRae has extensive experience within family law as a solicitor and also as a registered social worker dealing with child and family problems, child protection and mental health. She provides advice in all aspects of child and family law, with particular expertise in supporting people in same sex relationships.

She is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a family mediator and trained in collaborative practice.

Ms McRae is a member of the Family Law Association and Consensus, the Scottish national network of collaborative lawyers and the Society of Solicitors to the Supreme Courts. She is also a trustee of Couple Counselling Lothian, the Scottish Council of Law Reporting and vice chair of Mellow Parenting, a voluntary organisation which supports families in promoting good child mental health.

Solicitor Cameron Shaw provides legal advice and assistance in all areas of child and matrimonial law including dealing with relationship breakdown, advising on financial provision upon divorce and cohabitation disputes.

He also has experience of mental health and incapacity law and represents parties in proceedings for guardianship and intervention orders.
