The three were among the 16 new silks that were appointed this year.

Ms Culross currently has an extremely busy criminal law practice and is instructed in a wide variety of trials, including sexual offences cases that involve allegations of sexual misconduct, rape and allegations of historical sexual abuse, attempted murder, fraud and misuse of drugs. She also appears regularly in the High Court of Appeal and has been involved in many of the country’s most complex cases. A recent highlight of her career was her appearance in the Supreme Court as junior counsel for the first appellant in Daly & Keir v HM Advocate [2025] UKSC 38, a landmark case and one of the most significant appeals in recent years.

Mr Farrell is currently a full time advocate depute. Prior to joining Crown Office, he was instructed in criminal cases at every level of the Scottish courts, with extensive experience in the most serious allegations, including attempted murder, rape and large-scale drug trafficking. He has been involved in a number of High Court prosecutions including murder, attempted murder, rape and misuse of drugs throughout his time in Crown Office.

Ms Roger is also currently a full time advocate depute. Prior to joining Crown Office, Lynsey had appeared in a wide range of criminal cases at both High Court and Sheriff Court level, acting for the defence as junior counsel alone and alongside senior counsel in serious and complex matters. Whilst in Crown Office, she has developed significant expertise in appellate work, acting in conviction and sentence appeals, petitions to the nobile officium, referrals from the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission and appeals on behalf of the Crown.
