New sheriffs appointed

His Majesty The King has appointed Imran Bashir, Jennifer Gear, James MacDonald and Moira Price to the office of sheriff on the recommendation of First Minister John Swinney.
Mr Swinney made his recommendation for appointment on the basis of a report by the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland (JABS).
JABS is an independent advisory public body with the role of recommending individuals for appointment to judicial offices within the board’s remit.
The salary of a sheriff is £179,939 per annum.
