Morton Fraser has been appointed to the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Wider Public Sector Legal Services Panel.

Morton Fraser is the only Scottish independent firm to be directly appointed to lot one of the panel, meaning its public sector team will be available to provide commercial legal services to public sector bodies across the UK, as part of the three-year contract.

The panel, which is split into five lots and will be worth £320m, will be used by organisations including ministerial and non-ministerial central government departments and their arms length bodies and agencies including health, education, local and regional government, emergency services, third sector and social housing organisations.

Maggie Moodie, chair and head of public sector at Morton Fraser, said: “Our appointment to the Crown Commercial Service’s Panel really shows the commitment and hard work of our Public Sector Team over the past 12 months.

“We understand the enormous pressures faced by public sector bodies across the UK, particularly in the current political climate, so are delighted that the CCS has recognised that our experience, services and transparent approach will fit well within the Panel and will serve those organisations in the right way.”
