MJC LAW named high street firm of the year

Paisley-based MJC LAW has been named Scotland’s high street firm of the year.

The firm was recognised at the Herald’s Law Awards of Scotland 2025, which took place in Glasgow on Friday.

Judges said the firm earned recognition for its “strategic growth, strong financial management, and commitment to accessible legal services”. They also praised the firm’s “clear vision, successful expansion, and effective scaling of community-focused initiatives that deliver measurable impact and long-term sustainability”.

Matthew Coffield, owner and director, said: “I am so proud to share the good news that MJC LAW are the high street firm of the year.

“On Friday 7 November 2025 we attended the Herald Law Awards. It was a tremendous event and was attended by the very best of the best in the legal profession.

“The judging panel included the Law Society of Scotland, Crown Counsel, and two King’s Counsel among others. No sterner test is available, and we came away with the massive win.

“We work hard at MJC LAW, every single one of us. We do well by doing what is right for our community in Paisley, in Renfrewshire and beyond.
