McKee Campbell Morrison (MCM) Solicitors has appointed Nicola Ker as head of its private client department and to the firm’s board of directors.

Ms Ker brings a wealth of private client expertise, including on the creation and management of trusts, establishing family investment companies, administering complex and high-value estates, preparing wills and powers of attorney and providing inheritance tax advice.

Following her appointment, MCM will provide a full suite of private client services, with Ms Ker working alongside senior associate director Jacqueline Tainsh and other members of the private client team.

It coincides with recent changes to inheritance text and and capital gains tax rules and thresholds, bringing business and estate planning to the forefront of individuals and business owners.

The appointment is the latest in a series of promotions and hires at Glasgow-headquartered MCM Solicitors in recent months.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Ker said: “MCM is a dynamic firm and I am excited to be able to offer my own particular skillset to this growing team which already offers legal advice in a wide range of areas.”

Fraser Morrison, managing director at MCM, added: “We are all delighted that Nicola is joining the firm.

“Nicola has an excellent reputation with both clients and advisers and her appointment allows MCM to provide an enhanced and specialist private client service to our individual and business clients – it’s a real game changer for the firm and our clients.”
