London: Clifford Chance increases NQ pay to £125k

Magic circle firm Clifford Chance has raised pay for newly-qualified UK-based solicitors by 16 per cent to £125,000.
The firm previously raised NQ pay by 7.5 per cent to £107,500 just last November.
Trainee pay remains £50,000 in year one and £55,000 in year two.
The latest increase comes amid an escalating pay war between City law firms and rivals based in the United States. Some City law firms have started to pay NQs more than £160,000, according to FT.
