Letter: ‘Utterly contemptible’

Dear Editor,

For decades the people of Afghanistan have fought against and been repressed by this appalling, oppressive organisation. No more than 24 hours before you released this article the Kabul citizens were so desperate to flee that they clung to the sides of evacuating aircraft, to later fall to their deaths.

Thousands of western soldiers have died at their hands.

Countless women and girls have been raped and forced into “marriage”. Innumerable men and boys maimed and executed at their hands.

Your likening some Scottish halfwits sauntering around the castle is at best ignorant and worst malicious. It shows complete disregard for the continuing plight of the Afghan people.

It is utterly contemptible.

Regards,

Mike Langridge (He/Him)
