Lady Scott will discuss how abused women are treated under the law in Scotland at an event marking 100 Years of Women in Law.
The judge joins Professor Sharon Cowan of Edinburgh Law School at the UK Association of Women Judges event taking place at the Faculty of Advocates next month.
Among the topics to be discussed at the “Women Who Kill” event are the reform of the law on diminished responsibility for women who have been abused, and the still-existing common law plea of provocation based on infidelity.
The free event in the Faculty’s Laigh Hall will take place on Thursday 28 November, 6pm, and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
