Lady Paton
Lady Paton will be retiring as chair of the Scottish Law Commission on 31 December, having served in the role for seven years.
She was the lead commissioner for the damages and homicide projects, both of which reported in the last year, and has contributed to many other commission projects.
In addition she led the commission through a move to Parliament House and the challenges of the pandemic as well being a strong advocate for the commission in Scotland, the rest of the UK and abroad.
Her “leadership, passion for law reform and sense of fun will be very much missed by all at the commission”.
