A rural law specialist has joined Blackadders LLP as a senior solicitor.

Kirsty Irvine has joined the firm in Aberdeen and will specialise in all aspects of rural legal matters. Her role will include the purchase and sale of farms, security work, clean energy matters, partnership advice and succession planning, alongside the firm’s private client team.

Ms Irvine, who was brought up in rural Aberdeenshire and completed her law degree and diploma in legal practice at Aberdeen University, has joined Blackadders from Burnett & Reid.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining Blackadders and look forward helping the Rural team as they continue to grow and expand. It’s a great sector to work in and, while there are real challenges in the agricultural industry at present, working with businesses and families in the farming sector is what I love doing.”

Phil Buchan, head of Blackadders’ rural land & business team, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Kirsty to the team and we look forward to supporting her in her development. Kirsty is from Aberdeenshire, she has good experience and I am sure her personable and commercial approach will benefit our farming clients. Kirsty will work with Ian Angus and Rebecca Mackie across our Aberdeen and Thainstone offices.”
