A trio from Holmes Mackillop Solicitors are seeking to raise £2,500 for The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice after taking part in the John Muir Way Nocturnal Ultra Marathon.
Craig Donnelly, Ross Brown and Sam Hamilton are welcoming donations via JustGiving after part in the run under cover of darkness on Saturday night.
The challenge sees runners given six hours to complete as many loops of the 5km off-road route as possible.
Mr Donnelly said: “It was a tough but enjoyable event. The course was mostly flat but did have two cheeky hills including one at the end which sapped the legs. We completed 11 laps to finish sixth overall in the men’s relay event.
“There was a great atmosphere with music, race snacks and even woodfired pizzas – probably not the best fuel for an endurance event but definitely good for morale!
“We’re grateful to everyone who has donated so far and would love to for there to be a boost this week to help the hospice continue its fantastic work.”
The mission of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is to provide high quality, person-centred care for all those affected by life-limiting conditions.
It receives a percentage of its funding from the NHS, but depends mostly on voluntary donations, fundraising events and legacies to maintain its invaluable services for the people of Glasgow.
