Harper Macleod builds up Highland property team with new associate

Harper Macleod has boosted its real estate team with the arrival of a new associate to its Inverness office.

Andrew Kerr has joined the firm from BBM Solicitors, where he was a director and head of property, and will further strengthen Harper Macleod’s presence in the commercial property sector across the Highlands.

He specialises in all aspects of commercial property and will work closely with partner Ross Thomson and the rest of the Harper Macleod real estate team to service the firm’s ever-growing portfolio of property clients – including developers, investors, housebuilders and retail brands.

Mr Kerr, who is also a board member at North Highland College UHI, said: “I’m delighted to get the chance to join one of Scotland’s leading law firms while still being able to remain based in the Highlands. I’ve watched on as Harper Macleod has grown and grown, and I grabbed the opportunity to be part of that growth. I’m looking forward to working with our existing clients and also continuing to increase the firm’s share of the local property market.”

Chris Kerr, lead partner for Harper Macleod in Inverness, said: “Andrew has a fantastic reputation and his experience and commercial nous will be a great addition to our team – which already works with some of the area’s most active property players. We’re committed to offering clients specialist advice on their doorstep, and with a team of 20 lawyers based in Inverness we’re able to do that – all the while backed up by the strength of one of Scotland’s biggest firms.

“Andrew’s addition is another example of our commitment to provide the very best service we can, and a combination of quality and value that, we believe, allows us to add real value to the businesses of those we work with.”
