Hamiltons Law Accountants wins Scottish Legal Awards support services award

Hamiltons Law Accountants was named the winner of Excellence in Support Services at the 2026 Scottish Legal Awards last month, recognising the specialist legal accountancy support that it provides to law firms across Scotland.

Judicial accounts helps firms recover the expenses they are entitled to, including in cases before the UK Supreme Court. Private and executry fee notes gives firms clear, well-prepared fee notes for private client and executry work. Management data and reporting turns a firm’s figures into practical insight for better decision-making. Finally, their HLA Academy provides practical, skills-based training for law firms, helping their teams meet their CPD requirements.

Founded in 2023, the firm now has a team of 19 and has strengthened its senior team with key appointments, including a head of operations and three senior law accountants. It has also taken on trainee law accountants as part of a wider commitment to bringing new talent into the profession.

David Hamilton, director at Hamiltons Law Accountants, said: “Looking at the companies we were shortlisted alongside, I certainly wasn’t taking anything for granted, so hearing our name called out was a moment I won’t forget.

“We’re approaching three years since launching Hamiltons Law Accountants, and seeing the team recognised like this means a huge amount to me. They put the work in every day, they look after our clients and they keep our standards high.

“I also want to thank our clients, especially those who took the time to provide testimonials in support of our nomination. Reading what they had to say about the team and the difference they make was something I was proud of before we even got to the awards.”
