Gilson Gray fundraising night raises staggering £100,000 for children's charities

A fundraising night hosted by Gilson Gray has raised more than £100,000 for two of the nation’s best-loved children’s charities.

Gilson Gray hosted its annual ‘GRACE Banquet’ at Prestonfield House to raise funds for both Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Now in its fourth year, the annual fun-filled event raised gross funds of £102,046.

Support for the night included many of the country’s leading brands, sports persons and individuals including Arnold Clark, Ryder Cup player Ronan Rafferty, Sally Gray OBE, James Thomson OBE of Prestonfield House, and accredited chef Roy Brett of Ondine who donated generously to the cause.

Glen Gilson, managing partner at Gilson Gray, said: “It is a privilege to host an event like the GRACE Banquet to raise funds to help children undergoing hospital treatment in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. This is certainly one of the most important activities of our business year.

“Many of our team at Gilson Gray, along with a lot of our clients and contacts have had their lives touched by the amazing work of both charities. We are extremely proud that we can assist in some small way.

“We are so grateful to all those who bought tables and donated so generously. This was our most successful GRACE Banquet yet.”

Amy Ford, corporate fundraiser at Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’re thrilled that Gilson Gray chose us as one of the charities to benefit from the GRACE Banquet for a second year.

“We can’t thank them enough for their support from what proves to be an amazing night year after year.

“The money raised enables us to continue our work to transform the lives of children and young people in hospitals and healthcare settings across the Lothians, Borders and Fife, so that they can be a child first and a patient second.”

Kirsten Sinclair, chief operating officer at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity said: “We are incredibly grateful to have been chosen as one of the beneficiary charities for this year’s Grace Banquet, and would like to share our heartfelt thanks with Gilson Gray for their continued support.

“Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity is committed to ensuring that young patients and their families treated at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital – the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow – receive the best possible care and experience.

“Thanks to the kind and generous support from Gilson Gray, we will be able to continue funding enhanced medical equipment, family support services, paediatric research and hospital play programmes in order to help these children and their families through some of the most difficult times of their lives.”
