Gillespie Macandrew boosts Glasgow office with associate appointments

Gillespie Macandrew has appointed two associates to its Glasgow office, as it continues to see its client base in the West of Scotland grow.

Isobell Reid (pictured right), formerly with DWF LLP, is an experienced property and commercial lawyer and joins the litigation and dispute resolution team, while Eleanor Fitzsimmons (pictured below) boosts the breadth of expertise within the firm’s land and rural business practice.

Ms Reid’s areas of expertise are property disputes, covering construction (both contentious and non-contentious), planning and contract, although she maintains a broad commercial litigation practice.

She has over 12 years’ experience of the Court of Session and sheriff courts as well as representing clients before the Lands Tribunal For Scotland and the Scottish Land Court, in arbitrations, adjudications, and other hearings and inquiries such as planning appeals.

Ms Fitzsimmon’s, meanwhile, has worked in Glasgow for the past ten years. She has specialised in property matters since qualifying in 2005, and has experience of sales and acquisitions of urban and rural properties, estates, farms and forestry.

Welcoming the pair, Gillespie Macandrew chief executive, Chris West said: “I am delighted to announce the expansion of our Glasgow office with these two experienced appointments. It shows our intent to drive forward the business and further enhance our Glasgow service for clients.

“The experience and expertise that they both bring will allow us to continue to build on our core strengths in land and property.

“Isobell and Eleanor both demonstrate a clear understanding of client business needs and have a very human approach to the legal matters they deal with. They possess exactly the qualities that we believe make this firm successful.”
