Four more solicitors gain Signet accreditation

(L-R): Bruce Beveridge, Nicola Gray, Leonie Donald, Musab Hemsi, Neil Morrison, and Caroline Docherty

The most recent successful candidates for The WS Society’s Signet Accreditation programme were presented their awards by the chair of the Signet Accreditation board, Bruce Beveridge WS and deputy keeper of the Signet, Caroline Docherty WS, at a ceremony held at the Signet Library on 26 January 2016.

Signet Accreditation is The WS Society’s programme of post qualification accreditation for Scottish solicitors. It has been running for nine years and has attracted much praise for its innovative approach.

The assessment is practically based and is designed to test not only technical legal knowledge in the chosen practice area, but also skills that are vital for overall effectiveness from a client perspective.

These include communication, commercial awareness, relevant non-legal knowledge and insight. The Signet Accreditation board believes this represents the future for the post qualification development of Scottish lawyers, as a whole.

The newly accredited lawyers are:

Employment:

Nicola Gray, Mackinnons

Musab Hemsi, Digby Brown

Commercial Litigation:

Leonie Donald, Aberdein Considine

Neil Morrison, HBJ Gateley
