And finally… judge not

A judge who told jurors that God had revealed to him that a defendant wasn’t guilty has been made the subject of an official complaint.

Judge Jack Robison, of Comal County, Texas, came into the jury room at the conclusion of the trial of an alleged sex trafficker and told jurors that God had told him that the defendant should not be convicted.

The jurors were not swayed and unanimously decided to convict.

Jury foreman Mark House has submitted a complaint regarding the judge’s conduct to the Judicial Conduct Commission.

However, he also told the San Antonio Express-News: “You’ve got to respect him for what he did. He went with his conscience.”

Judge Robison recused himself from sentencing, where the convicted sex trafficker was sent to prison for the minimum sentence of 25 years.
