Event: The Claus that broke the chimney

Event: The Claus that broke the chimney

With Christmas fast approaching and mince pies mysteriously disappearing across the land, Santa Claus has found himself back in court.

Bad Santa is back and is being charged with contravention of the ECHR*.

This year’s festive legal drama staged by members of the Faculty of Advocates will see the esteemed International Christmas Court convene in the Laigh Hall at Parliament House to hear allegations of festive criminality.

Santa stands accused by his ever-diligent (and slightly overworked) elf, Twinkle Snowed-Under, of breaching the *Elf Convention for Home Reconnaissance Act. Apparently, the big man’s “chimney entry techniques” have raised a few eyebrows this season.

The star-studded cast sees Donald Finlay KC as the ever-jolly judge, Dean of Faculty Roddy Dunlop KC leading the prosecution, Tony Graham KC heading the defence – and Gordon Jackson as Santa.

The supporting cast comprising some of this year’s devils will cover narration, clerking, and jury duties.

Justice will be served in the Laigh Hall on Wednesday 17 December from 6.30pm. The proceedings will be followed by a drinks reception. Proceeds from ticket sales will support the Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation and the Lawscot Foundation.
