Esson & Aberdein delivers festive gift to Aberdeen FC’s community programme

Esson & Aberdein is helping to spread some festive cheer by providing season tickets to Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) participants to access all remaining matches at Pittodrie this season.

Thanks to the generous support of the club’s recently appointed legal and property partner, participants from AFCCT’s ‘The Changing Room’ project have received tickets to attend Dons matches throughout the remainder of the season.

The Changing Room’ is a Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) project that works in partnership with the SPFL Trust and football club charities and trusts, across Scotland. It is also funded by the global men’s health charity, Movember.

The programme educates men aged 30-64 on positive mental wellbeing whilst also giving them access to a strong support network. The course uses football, along with a variety of other activities, to explore areas that may challenge them, such as how they view themselves, think and feel.

On launch Esson & Aberdein pledged to deliver a percentage of all profits to good causes, through its mEAningful difference scheme.

Joni Esson, MD of Esson & Aberdeen, believes local businesses can play a pivotal role in supporting key community initiatives. “At Esson & Aberdein we are absolutely committed to the communities where we do business. We recognise the value of meaningful relationships and when we heard of this programme, we wanted to play our part to enhance the relationship of that group.”

Esson & Aberdein treated participants of the programme to a VIP matchday in the hospitality lounge at the recent 2-0 victory over Livingston at Pittodrie and have also issued the participants with a season ticket to attend matches throughout the second half of the season.

AFCCT’s Project lead, Brian Johnston commented: “It has been great to receive this backing from a partner of the club. It really adds to what we can offer already through the programme.

“The programme itself is all about improving mental wellbeing and we have many Dons supporters involved in the programme who enjoy nothing more than heading to Pittodrie, so marrying the two together really makes sense. Even just by attending the Livingston match all of the guys were able to build a closer connection with the rest of the participants.”

Any members of the Red Army selling their property through Esson & Aberdein will be entitled to a free season ticket for the rest of the 2021/22 season courtesy of the company.

The law firm will also offer legal and property services on preferential terms to all Dons fans who have season tickets or are members of the club’s AberDNA scheme, as well as the club’s 300 staff.
