English law firm expands north with Glasgow office
English law firm Keoghs has expanded into Scotland with the opening of a Glasgow office.
The new base will initially see four partners join the firm over the next month: Stefanie Johnston, formerly of Brodies and Douglas Cowan, formerly of Harper Macleod while two further Brodies lawyers, David Hennessy and Emily Jeffrey, will join as partners in May.
Keoghs chief executive, John Whittle, said: “This is an exciting period for Keoghs as our plans for expansion gather pace. Opening an office in Scotland is a vital strategic element for our long term growth, allowing us to stay at the forefront of legal services for the insurance industry across the UK.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome such a talented and experienced team to the firm and look forward to providing Scotland with the market leading service for which Keoghs are renowned.”
Ms Johnston added: “Joining a firm of Keoghs’ reputation and helping to spearhead a new presence in Scotland presents a truly exciting opportunity. Whilst, to an extent, my initial focus will be on the expansion of Keoghs’ services to the shipping, transport and leisure sectors across the UK, I am looking forward to working with all areas of the organisation to continue the quality of service already provided throughout England and Wales.”
Mr Cowan said: “It is tremendously exciting to join Keoghs and the opportunities are great, especially given the diverse experience of all of the partners that will be joining the Glasgow office.”
