DLA Piper Edinburgh office to co-manage new Merlin Entertainments contract

DLA Piper has been appointed as the primary advisor to Merlin Entertainments for a range of legal work, including commercial, employment and real estate in the UK, as well as global construction work.

The relationship will be managed by Rob Salter, corporate partner, London and John McKinlay, partner and UK head of intellectual property and technology, Edinburgh.

Merlin Entertainments owns over 120 attractions such as theme parks Alton Towers, Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures, as well as the London Eye and waxworks museum Madame Tussauds.

Mr McKinlay, said: “This is an important win for the firm, as well as for our Edinburgh team particularly who will be handling all of Merlin’s commercial, technology and intellectual property contracts across the UK.

“In addition to our strong track record in the sector, it was our innovative use of IT that helped us win the primary supplier retainer.”
