Commissioner launches investigation following injury to 56-year-old man

The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) has been instructed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service(COPFS) to carry out an investigation after a 56-year-old man was injured during an incident in Livingston involving police.

A spokesman for the PIRC said: “The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) has instructed the Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) to undertake an investigation in relation to the circumstances surrounding an incident in which a 56-year-old man sustained an injury at Livingston Police Office on 8 August 2016.

“A report on the commissioner’s findings will be submitted to the COPFS in due course.”
