Mackinnons Solicitors fielded its first-ever football team to take part in the Aberdeen Corporate Business Fives event – a blend of friendly competition and charitable fundraising that brings together companies from across the region.
The Business Fives tournament offers businesses the chance to team-build, network, and give back to the community through sport. Each participating team competes not only for glory on the pitch but also to raise money for their chosen charities.
This year, Mackinnons Solicitors took part with a team of seven solicitors representing the firm for the first time. Mackinnons emerged as Europa Conference League winners, defeating Marine Technical Limits 4-2 in the final with goals from Alan Simpson (2) and Cameron Milne (2) and a sterling goalkeeping performance from Angus Easton, earning a well-deserved trophy and a £100 bonus charity donation as part of the event’s prize pool.
As winners of the Europa Conference League the team earned themselves an invitation to the Scottish National Finals taking place in October with winners from across Scotland competing to be crowned national champions.
The firm said: “As part of our involvement, we chose to raise funds for The Fishermen’s Mission, a cause deeply aligned with the firms long-standing connection to Scotland’s marine and fishing industries.
“The Fishermen’s Mission provides vital welfare and emergency support to fishermen and their families across the UK, offering assistance with everything from injury recovery and financial hardship to mental health support and bereavement care.”
