Blackadders has continued its expansion in the west of Scotland by recruiting an experienced employment law adviser to its Glasgow base.

Stephen Connolly, who joins the firm as a partner today, is the latest addition to the firm’s Glasgow team. Previously a partner with Miller Samuel Hill Brown’s employment team in Glasgow, he has specialised in employment law for over 15 years.

In addition to regularly representing clients in employment tribunals regarding contentious cases, Mr Connolly provides strategic, practical advice on the full range of employment law and HR matters which can arise throughout the cycle of an employment relationship. These include disciplinary and grievance matters, performance management, unfair dismissal, discrimination issues, the Working Time Regulations, Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) regulations (TUPE), and contractual disputes.

He also has significant experience in advising employer clients on GDPR obligations and on business immigration issues while he regularly designs and presents training courses on HR issues for management as well as senior directors and employees.

Mr Connolly said: “The prospect of joining such an ambitious Scottish law practice with a reputable employment team was too good an opportunity to miss. I look forward to working with them and helping to continue to build on their successful track record.”

Simon Allison, head of the firm’s employment team, said: “Securing a solicitor of Stephen’s calibre is a massive boost for increasing the team’s presence in Glasgow and will allow us to sustain the strong growth we are experiencing in our expanding client base.”
