Black Chambers welcomes Amy Hunter and Scot Dignan

Black Chambers has announced two new members who called to the bar last week: Amy Hunter and Scot Dignan.
Ms Hunter has considerable experience in criminal law, having completed her traineeship in 2014. She has worked in both criminal defence practice and as a prosecutor with Crown Office as a principal procurator fiscal depute.
She has an interested in domestic abuse and sexual offence cases, and at COPFS was the special point of contact for human trafficking in sexual offence cases at sheriff and jury level. She also has experience in other areas, including family law, children’s referrals, mental health tribunals, adults with incapacity, and parole hearings.
Mr Dignan practised as a solicitor for 12 years before being called to the bar, latterly as a principal procurator fiscal depute at Paisley, where he led a team of prosecutors responsible for conducting criminal trials across the west of Scotland.
He has considerable experience in conducting complex criminal trials at both summary and solemn levels. He has appeared regularly in sheriff courts across Scotland and has worked extensively with vulnerable and child witnesses. He has experience in handling cases of a high-profile and diplomatically sensitive nature.
