Anderson Strathern’s Corporate Responsibility Committee has chosen SAMH as its charity to support this year.

Since 1923, SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) has operated services in communities across Scotland providing mental health social care support, addictions and employment services, among others. These services together with SAMH’s national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform their policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Jane Rutherford, head of the corporate social responsibility Committee said: After such a successful year working hand in hand with Alzheimer Scotland, our team is delighted to be supporting SAMH this year. We’re incredibly excited about the prospect of raising as much money as possible for SAMH, especially at a time when mental health is so much on the agenda.

“Over the next 12 months, we will organise and take part in a number of activities and events to raise funds and awareness for the incredible work SAMH orchestrates each day. We will be kicking off our year of fundraising for SAMH by celebrating ‘Mental Health Awareness Week’ from 14 – 20 May.”

“As part of our overall corporate social responsibility activities, every employee is given a day-and-a-half’s paid leave to take part in CSR-related activities, so I’m excited to see how they will be using this entitlement.”
