And finally… unhappy ending

A scientist in Antarctica is alleged to have stabbed his colleague after the man repeatedly revealed the endings of books he was reading.

Sergey Savitsky, 55, and Oleg Beloguzov, 52, passed their hours in a remote outpost reading over the course of four years together.

However, Savitsky supposedly became enraged after Beloguzov kept telling him what happened at the end of novels he was reading.

The victim is now in intensive care after he was flown to Chile from Russia’s Bellingshausen research station, situated on King George Island, with an injury to his heart.

Savitsky is in St Petersburg under house arrest and has been charged with attempted murder.
