In a video from New Zealand, a police car is seen mounting the pavement with sirens blaring during the slow-motion chase.

One one-looker is heard laughing at the cart’s nimble evasive turns, adding: “Oh my f***ing god, runaway golf cart.”

Police said they “followed the vehicle at low speed until a member of the public intervened, at which time the rider fled on foot”, the NZ Herald reports.

They added: “The abandoned golf cart was recovered undamaged and inquiries are ongoing to locate the offender, whose identity is now known to police.”
